K Warren Vox
A standard two step percussion loop is fused with piano keys and an underlying synthesiser bed. A dark synthesiser riff trace James William's speedier vocals, which in the small but regular bridge sections, are cut and pasted over the groove. The bass drums are lost a little in the mix but this does not spoil a good vocal mix of “ Darlin' ”. The introduction and end of the track are given a wash of spacy-sounding soaring pads.

Darlin' (BT's Re-edit)

Save Our Soul (BT's Re-edit)
Brian Tappert (from the Cleptomaniacs) chooses to keep the two keyed piano line as the basis for his interpretation. Unsurprisingly, it is not far from the original, although noticible changes include the abscence of the speech at the beginning and a change in the style of the bass. Brian utilises a reverb technique for pauses in the song. He also includes a drum roll which acts as a small breakdown, after which the bass is added once more, enabling the song to plod along again. Admitedly, it is a repetitive which I don't favour myself because there is not enough driving the track.

Darlin' (Mr G's REM Mix)
Mr G begins this mix with a hypnotic locked drum loop on top of which is a bizarre pitched-up live conga sample. The cybals work their way up through the mix before snippets of James Williams' “The smiling faces....” and “Every night in my dreams” vocals are dropped over the groove. Nobody can resist Colin Bean's repetitive groove.

K Warren Dub
Reverbed piano stabs and a quick snare drum loop are interjected with tough bass. The absence of a flowing vocal after the opening refrain are countered with a dark, funky synthesiser bassline. More cut and paste vocals are used instead of the regular stanzaic vocals. Despite being a dub, this mix contains a large quantity of vocal shippets and one liners.

Album Version
A call of “Party------!” by James Williams and hand claps ease listeners into this, the 'lovers' song' on the album. Not for the first time violins and a plucked twangy bass guitar (which has a solo) meet on a Bob Sinclar track. However, it is too slow for me but for those who enjoy easy listening CDs will probably like this more.
